At Awutu Bereku, a district in the Central Region, two young men, said to be in their late twenties, narrowly avoided being lynched for stealing.
The two suspects, Sampson Quaye and Rasta, were apprehended while stealing power wires and other items from an unfinished structure.
The two had developed popularity in the region, according to information gathered at the site, and are accused of stealing supplies from ten other homes.
Although the robbers fled the scene, they were apprehended due to the quick response of some locals.
They would have been lynched if it hadn’t been for the prompt intervention of some young people, who proposed they be handed up to district police officers.
Due to the extent of their wounds, the suspects were sent to the Awutu Bereku Health Centre for treatment under careful supervision.
