The identity of suspected criminals will no longer be reveal to the public

The Ghana Police Service has decided not to publicize or display the faces of suspects who have not yet been found guilty.

It stated that suspects’ faces and identities will be completely revealed only when they have been legally convicted before a competent court of law.

However, the police stated that suspects who have been proclaimed sought by the courts and have an arrest warrant issued for various offenses will have their faces and other bodily characteristics released, if necessary, for the sake of identification, arrest, and prosecution.

The Police Service stated in a statement that the choice was made to exhibit the greatest level of professionalism.
