FIFA HAS DISMISSED SOUTH AFRICA’S PETITION FOR A REMATCH
After a contentious loss to Ghana, FIFA has dismissed South Africa’s petition for a rematch. South Africa’s bid to have their World Cup qualifier against Ghana replayed was denied by FIFA. South Africa filed a “formal protest” with FIFA following the encounter last month, requesting a rematch after a number of “questionable decisions,” according to their football association’s chief executive. FIFA, on the other hand, has issued a statement pronouncing their plea “inadmissible.” “The Disciplinary Committee has found the objection made by South Africa inadmissible because it did not meet the standards set out in art. 46 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code and art. 14 of the Regulations of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Preliminary Competition,” the statement stated. “The decision may be appealed.” After slight touch from South African defender Rushine de Reuck, Ghana’s Daniel Amartey went down in the box. Andre was granted a penalty by referee Maguette Ndiaye. Source: WonderWatson blog Continue reading FIFA HAS DISMISSED SOUTH AFRICA’S PETITION FOR A REMATCH
